Conference on Perspectives of E-Mobility in Northwest Europe

On September 26th, the European Network for Electric Vehicles (ENEVATE) hosted its Final Conference in order to conclude the European cooperation project funded by the Interreg IVB program.
  • 180 participants discuss results of the project ENEVATE in Brussels
  • Bayern Innovativ and the Cluster Automotive as partners in a strong consortium
  • Regional approaches as driver for successful realization of projects in the field of e-mobility

On the eve of the conference a reception took place in the European Parliament. The parliamentarians Bernd Lange (Germany) and Lambert van Nistelrooij (Netherlands) welcomed the ENEVATE project partners and participants. Bernd Lange highlighted the importance of transnational projects for the development of e-mobility. These projects would have to deal with all relevant aspects just like ENEVATE – from electric vehicles and infrastructure issues up to regional development concepts and pilot projects.

Numerous contributions at the conference with 180 participants dealt in particular with the regional approach to promote electric mobility. Dr. Kord Pannkoke, Bayern Innovativ GmbH, presented project results from ENEVATE in his presentation and stressed that e-mobility mainly emanated from a regional level.

According to Petr Dolejsi from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), an improved development of the charging infrastructure and standardization at the European level would be crucial for the success of e-mobility.
