ENEVATE 2.0 approved!

The JTS approved the extension of the project to ENEVATE 2.0. A new partnership network in NWE will implement ENEVATE results to E-mobility programs in Rural areas until December 2014.

The implementation of E-mobility in rural areas is important due to several aspects. Especially in rural areas as most of the working force living outside the city is commuting. The average range of commuters in Europe is about 40  kilometres per day and therefore a perfect case for cars with an electric drivetrain. With regard to renewable energies, e-cars will play a major role in the future energy management of households, as well as that it opens possibilities for integration in smart grid solutions. Especially rural areas and more spread out villages and smaller cities offer opportunities for local energy production by households and companies, both individual as well as in Energy co-operations.

Further on: Although all attention seems to go to lowering emission levels in cities, rural areas are affected as well.
